Ivy Cliff - Forest,Virginia ![]() Investigation: Ivy Cliff / Location: Forest, Virginia / Date of Investigation: August 24, 2007 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Cindy Holt / Evidence: Lots of evps / Status: Active History Ivy Cliff began as a modest two story home built in the 1790's by Henry Brown In Bedford County VA near the town of New London. There were at least four additions through the 1860's. Henry became very wealthy through business and land ownership and eventually owned approximately 3400 acres including Ivy Cliff. He served in the militia during the revolutionary war, was wounded at the battle of Guilford Courthouse, N.C., and eventually made captain many years after the war. Henry served as President of the Board of Trustees of New London Academy, Sheriff of Bedford County, and county tax collector. He even collected taxes from his neighbor, Thomas Jefferson. Henry Brown's descendants were activly involved in politics throughout the 1800's and his grandson, Colo. John Thompson Brown died at the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864. JTB's Frock coat he died in has survived all these years and was sold at auction in 2007 for over $100,000! Brown descendants lived at Ivy Cliff until 1923 when the house was sold at auction to the Miles family who lived here until 2005. Today, Ivy Cliff is comprised of 17 acres, original chicken and carrier pigeon coup, corn crib, servants cabin, water well, early 20th century cow barn, tobacco barn, and chick brooding pen. Since Jefferson was a neighbor, It is the belief of some architectural historians that the triple hung windows were designed by Thomas Jefferson. Above credit goes to historicivycliff.com Claims Spirit activity seems to be coming from the basement area of the house. Investigation This investigation started out by Amy Scott, and Cindy Holt covering the grounds of Ivy Cliff. Then Amy and Cindy went into the main house to investigate. The main house has three levels, and lots of nice big rooms. Each room was investigated with digital recordings, and cameras. Down in the basement of the house Amy captured an evp of a little girl saying "hi" in a shy voice sound. The owner of the home had made claims to the investigators that the basement area was the part of the house that had the most activity. Amy also said she felt this area to be very active, because she is what we call a sensitive - someone that can hear, and pick up on spirit activity . Then Amy and Cindy went to the slave cabin area of the property where Amy captured another evp.
EVP This evp was captured on August 24, 2007. Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Cindy Holt. Location: Ivy Cliff in Forest, Virginia. Amy
Scott was in the basement of Ivy Cliff, and she kept telling the other
investigators that something small was behind her. No one believed Amy,
and what she was hearing. Amy is sensitive ( a person that is able to
feel, and hear the spirits ). Amy then said to the others that she was
going to go through the back room which was only a small cut out of a
frame. As they were talking about this you can hear a small child's
voice say "hi".

Private Residence - Lynchburg, Virginia
Door That Flings Open Two Orbs Investigation: Private Residence / Location: Lynchburg, Virginia / March 27, 2009 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Tina Hansen - David Hansen / Evidence: Orb photo This was a private residence located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The homeowner believes his deceased mother is still with him alone with someone else. He claims to hear whispers, and chattering while in the shower. He also states doors open on their own, and toilets flush by themselves. He has seen an apparition of a women in his kitchen, and heard footsteps going upstairs while he is in the kitchen. He hears many noises that cannot be explained. The center photo above shows two orbs. The last photo above shows a chair that has been placed in front of a door that constantly flings open. The investigators tried to recreate what might be making the door fling open, but could not come up with any explanation. The owner grew tired of dealing with it so a chair was placed there to stop the door from opening.

Undisclosed Location Altavista, Virginia ![]() Investigation: Undisclosed / Location: Altavista , Virginia / Date of Investigation: April 3, 2009 and May 8, 2009 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Jeff Stanley - Tina Hansen - David Hansen / Evidence: Captured evps - strange lights in pictures - orbs in photos / Status: Very Active The claims here have been reported of hearing a small child, and shadow figures that appear out of the corner of your eye, and then disappear when you turn to look . The property has been around since colonial times, and many a person was hanged in a tree next to the home, because they believed they were spies for the British, or some way helping the British against the American colonies. The grounds of this place was investigated first. A picture taken around the spot of the hanging tree showed a strange mist form in it. There was no fog that night, and it was not cold enough to produce your breath, and no one that smoked was smoking at the time. This picture proved to be strange with no explanation for the event. Then the investigators moved into the main floor of the home which was a three story home including the attic. Investigators split up to cover the home better, because it was very large. Robin Durham and Jeff Stanley went to the War Room of the house to do some evp work. Several evps were captured in the War Room, and one leaving the room on the way downstairs to do a candlelight session with questions. The group also investigated what we called the Blue Room of the house. We all sat in this room, and asked various questions to elicit a response. We never provoke when asking questions, because we feel this is dangerous and you really never know what kind of energy you are dealing with, negative or positive energy. I ( Jeff Stanley ) got up to go downstairs and turn off all the lights. Tina captured on video around this time what looked like a ball of energy with a commit like tail moving between Amy and David, and then turning and going out through a window which was shut tight. This event can be viewed in the evidence archive under Undisclosed location in Altavista. Later on Robin, and Jeff Stanley went outside to the cemetery to investigate, and captured an evp that sounded like it was telling them to get out in a very strange sounding voice. Pictures had been taken earlier in the investigation here, and they showed strange lights in them as well. We captured lots of evps as well as strange photos that we had no explanation for. During this investigation we had a really bad electrical storm which added to the thrill of it all. EVP

Avenel Home - Bedford,Virginia ![]() Investigation: Avenel Home / Location: Bedford, Virginia / Date of Investigation: June 6, 2009 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Jeff Stanley / Evidence: Lots of evps - Orb photos - EMF spikes - Cold Spots / Status: Very Active. History Above History Credit goes to Avenel Website! Investigation Avenel has always been a hot bed of activity. Paranormal investigators love to investigate, because they are never caught short handed on evidence here. I personally have experienced many events besides the evps. Several years back I was investigating here with another group, and I was located in the Pink Room of the house. I asked the question: If there is anyone here could you give me a sign? The investigator with me noticed the ceiling light above our heads began to move slowly clockwise. Then it moved faster, then slowed down, and went counter clockwise. Another time I experienced the smell of cigar smoke. Smoking is not allowed inside Avenel. Still on another occasion I was manning night vision cameras one night when I witnessed a ball of light with a comet tail travel up the stairs, and do a 45 degree turn right through the door behind me. That made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. By far the best event described to me About Avenel was by the caretaker named Taffany. She is inside the home most days. She said this one particular day she was in her office, and she heard this blood chilling crash in one of the rooms downstairs. She said she just new that a priceless picture, or some artifact had fallen off the wall, and smashed into a thousand pieces. She rushed downstairs, and into the room only to find nothing wrong. Now if that does not make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, then nothing ever will. EVP

Colonial Park - Savannah, Georgia Investigation: Colonial Park / Location: Savannah, Georgia / Date of Investigation: August 7, 2009 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Lori Tuten / Evidence: None / Status: Unknown History The Colonial Park Cemetery, one of Savannah’s most beautiful restorations, is the final resting place for many of Savannah's earliest citizens. Established about 1750, it was the original burial ground for the Christ Church Parish. The cemetery was enlarged in 1789 to become the cemetery for people of all denominations. Among those buried here are Button Gwinnett, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Names of other distinguished Savannahians buried here can be found below in the text of the historical marker below. More than 700 victims of the 1820 Yellow Fever epidemic are buried in Colonial Park Cemetery. There are also many victims of Savannah's tragic dueling era. Savannah history records the first dueling death in 1740 and the final shot fired in 1877. Many of the duels left a number of men dead from what one source calls acts of "too much honor." Some of the duels were fought in and around Colonial Park Cemetery. He
fell in a duel on the 16th of January, 1815, by the hand of a man who, a
short time ago, would have been friendless but for him. . . . By his
untimely death the prop of a Mother's age is broken: The hope and
consolation of Sisters is destroyed, the pride of Brothers humbled in
the dust and a whole family, happy until then, overwhelmed with
affliction. The cemetery was already closed to burials before the start of the Civil War and no Confederate soldiers are buried there. But the war did leave its mark on the cemetery. Federal troops took over the cemetery grounds during their occupation of Savannah and many of the graves were looted and desecrated. It has been said that Union soldiers changed the dates on many of the headstones. It should come as no surprise that Colonial Park Cemetery is a popular stop for local ghost tours. One walking tour dares go through the cemetery at night. According to one story, a maid at the old City Hotel on Bay Street was found in tears outside the gate of the cemetery. When her coworkers inquired what was wrong, she told them she had followed a young man from the hotel who walked into the cemetery and disappeared. The
Colonial Park Cemetery is also home to one of Savannah's most famous
ghosts, that of "Rene Asche Rondolier (or Renee Rondolia Asch), a
disfigured orphan who was said to have called Colonial Park his home in
the early 1800s. Accused of murdering two girls whose bodies were found
in the cemetery, Rene was dragged to the nearby swamps and lynched and
left for dead. More dead bodies turned up in the cemetery in the days
that followed. The townspeople were convinced it was Rene's ghost and
some still call the cemetery, Rene's playground.
The following text is from the Colonial Park Cemetery State Historical Marker: COLONIAL PARK This cemetery, the second in colonial Savannah, was the burying ground for the city from about 1750 until it was closed against burials in 1853. Among the distinguished dead who rest here are Archibald Bulloch, first President of Georgia; James Habersham, acting royal Governor of the Province, 1771-'73; Joseph Habersham, Postmaster General under three Presidents; Lachlan McIntosh, Major General, Continental Army; Samuel Elbert, Revolutionary soldier and Governor of Georgia; Capt. Denis L. Cottineau de Kerloguen who aided John Paul Jones in the engagement between the "Bon Homme Richard" and the "Serapis"; Hugh McCall, early historian of Georgia; Edward Green Malbone, the noted miniaturist, and Colonel John S. McIntosh, a hero of the War with Mexico. The remains of Major General Nathanael Greene who died in 1786 reposed in the Graham vault until they were reinterred in 1901 in Johnson Square. The cemetery became a city park in 1896. History Information Credit goes to Colonial Park Cemetery's Website Colonial Park is the most haunted local cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. There have been claims of spirit children frolicking through out the grounds. Visitors have taken photos with apparitions appearing in them. A few people have even claimed to have been attacked by unseen hands. No evp evidence was captured or photo evidence of any kind.

Carriage House Inn - Lynchburg, Virginia
Investigation: Carriage House Inn / Location: Lynchburg, Virginia / Date of Investigation: August 24, 2009 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Tina Hansen - David Hansen / Evidence: Captured evps - unexplainable photos / Status: Active History Located in historic Daniels Hill this 1878 Italianate mansion has been authentically restored to its original grandeur. As you drive through the brick and iron front gate imagine visitors exiting their horse-drawn carriages under the porte-cohere, being welcomed in the grand foyer and entertained in the formal front parlor. Not only is this home the largest and finest Italianate mansion in the Daniels Hill Historic District it is the largest Italianate home in the city of Lynchburg. In the spring of 1875, Richard Thomas Watts purchased the two lots on Daniels Hill for the sum of $2,150.00, onto which he erected his residence which took more than two years to construct. The original main brick mass of the house was trimmed with three frame polygonal bay windows and with two small porches adorning the Cabell Street façade. Six outbuildings dotted the property, with two large frame structures fronting D Street. By 1902, two of the small outbuildings had been demolished, and one of the buildings on D Street was identified as a carriage house. More significantly, the Cabell Street façade of the main house had been renovated, and the Queen Anne porch features that can be seen on the house today had been added. This fine home is of the Italianate style as it resembles a Renaissance villa appropriate for a residence in a city. Predominately a rectangle both exterior and interior walls are constructed of three courses of brick. A compact, symmetrical floor plan features a sweeping staircase in the entry foyer. Rounded romanesque arches frame windows and doors. Pediments, scrolled brackets, pilasters, overhanging eaves and pillars were common on Italianate homes. Queen Victoria adopted this style of home for her residence on the Isle of Wright-Osborne House. The above credit goes to /www.thecarriagehouseinnbandb.com Claims No claims that I am aware of. Investigation Noises were heard within the house, and a few unexplainable photos were taken as well. The house itself yielded several evps, and more evps in the carriage house. All recordings were lost to unfortunate circumstances!

Jane's House - Amherst, Virginia ![]()
Side Photo Of Back Of House Attic Basement Investigation: Jane's House - Private residence / Location: Amherst County, Virginia / Date of Investigation: May 8, 2010 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Jeff Stanley - Tina Hansen - David Hansen / Evidence: Lots of evps - EMF spikes / Length of Investigation: 5 Hours / Status: Active This investigation proved to be a good one. Claims of paranormal activity here are people seeing shadow figures - little girl spirit - and a spirit of a man. The wind was really up on the night of the investigation so we had to be very careful of what we captured on evp, and then deciding if it was paranormal, or just a natural explanation for the event. I personally caught many evps, and had this one emf spike that peaked to a ( 2.1 ), any hing over a ( .5 ) is starting to get high. EMF detector is an instrument we paranormal investigators use to pick up on energy. Spirits are said to be energy, so that device helps us detect it. I was walking in the front part of this house, and opened a door to another room that contained items for repairs to the home, and they were being stored here. When i opened the door, i got a spike on my emf detector that went to 2.1 and then back to a very low .1 reading. Right after this event i captured a little girl laughing in with the rest of the investigators on evp. During the night Robin Durham and Jeff Stanley went to a bedroom located toward the front of the house to do some evp work. An evp was captured here of something blowing into the mic of my recorder. My recorder was about 15 feet from me and 10 feet from Robin. You can listen to this in the evidence area under Jane's House Investigation. We also went into the basement of the house where some evps were captured that sounded like a little girl, and a photo taken of me showed a strange disturbance around me. EVP work was also taken in the back part of the home. This proved to be some really nice evps. I asked the question if anyone would like to communicate with us and got a "yes" response. Another time Amy, and a couple of other investigators complained of hearing a strange sound, and sure enough, it turn out on evp. I could not hear it at the time, until i reviewed the digital recorder evidence, and sure enough there it was. Amy is what we call a sensitive. This is a person that can feel, and hear spirits when everyone else is oblivious to them. We all moved up and into the attic and did some more evp work. The wind was really howling, and mad it very difficult for evidence here. We later moved back downstairs, and concluded our night of investigating. Note: Amy Scott got sick here during a prior investigation, but felt fine after leaving the property. That investigation took place on October 23, 2009. EVP This evp was captured on May 8, 2010 at the Jane House Investigation in Amherst, Virginia. Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Jeff Stanley - Tina Hanson - David Hanson I asked the question are you here with us, and got a reply of " yes ".

clicking sound which has been identified as a spirit getting ready to

into my recorder. I assure you that it is not one of us.

City Cemetery - Lynchburg Va. ![]() Investigation: Presbyterian City Cemetery / Location: Lynchburg, Virginia / Date of Investigation: May 21, 2010 / Investigators Present: Amy Scott - Robin Durham - Jim Tarazewich / Evidence: Captured evps / Length of Investigation: 2 hours / Status: Active History In 1823, six elders of the Presbyterian church purchased two acres from Edward Lynch, son of John Lynch (Lynchburg City founder). The current Trustees of the Cemetery, elders of First Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian Churches in Lynchburg, remain committed to providing interment spaces and personal service to meet the current and future needs consistent with preservation of the Cemetery's historic landscape. Over 213 Confederate soldiers are buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery, making it one of the largest Lynchburg-area Confederate burial sites. Those resting in the Cemetery include members of the military from generals to privates, merchants, doctors, lawyers, educators, businessmen, artists, and ministers. Some markers or monuments mark the place of origin of the deceased, where their descendents can be traced back to Ireland, Scotland, and many other European countries. Perhaps just one of the interesting facts about the Cemetery is that it may hold true-line descendents of the Indian Princess Pocahontas where the Bollings are buried. Pocahontas and John Rolfe's granddaughter married Col. Robert Bolling and had many descendants. In fact, Raymond David Booth, who was superintendent of the Cemetery for 43 years and was buried here in 1990, was a direct 12th generation descendant of Pocahontas. The architecture of sculptures and art reflect these cultures, as some sculptures look Gothic while others appear Georgian or Celtic. The most dramatic stone is a weeping angel bending over in grief. The angel's companion appears not far away, with another angel standing holding a trumpet to signal the rapture. Some stones are made of marble, while others are made from more modern granite that weathers quite well. Intricate colors of gray, pink, and black can be seen throughout the Cemetery in sculptures and art. When first purchased in 1823, the grounds needed much care to bring them to the park-like feel they have today. Local author Mrs. Mary Anthony Cabell wrote in 1858 the contrast of the grounds appearance from 1824, "...and it was then a dreary spot, without shade or verdure, but by tender, diligent culture by surviving friends, trees have sprung up…the grass has overspread these sacred enclosures, whilst roses have blossomed, resembling in their beauty the sweet early dayspring of life" (Lynchs Ferry, Spring/Summer, 1998). Claims No claims that I am aware of. Investigation The family center plot section was covered first, and Amy Scott captured an evp. Then the confederate plot section was investigated, and Jim Tarazewich captured another evp. The group then walked to the Visitors section for some more evp work, but no evps were captured. They left the Visitors section, and went to the Hearst Carriage House, and a picture was taken that showed an orb beside Robin Durham's head. The group proceeded onto the Pet cemetery area, but captured no evps there. Jim and another investigator Kim headed to the new Potter's section of the cemetery. Here they picked up two more evp's, one of a little girl, and the other one was faint. EVP

Avenel Meeting - Bedford, Virginia Orbs In Windows ![]()
The above photos were taken from the top photo. What you see is the lower window of the house with the orbs in them. We have enlarged that window two different ways so you can see what we see. I for one see strange looking faces in the orbs. Some are disturbing in nature. The above window of the house did not show anything out of the ordinary except for the orbs which showed white in color, but the lower window proved to be a different story. Some of the faces look like some kind of animal or beast , while others look like little children. Very disturbing indeed.
Meeting: Avenel / Location: Bedford, Virginia / Date:July 17, 2010 / Investigators Present: Jeff Stanley - Jim Tarazewich Jim and myself held a group meeting at Historic Avenel in Bedford, Virginia on the 17th of July to discuss bringing new members into the group, as well as places to investigate, and adding new equipment to our group. We sat on the front of Avenel's wrap around porch. The meeting started at 8:00 p.m. Sometime after that, Jim captured an evp saying that's right. We walked all around the outside of the property, and Jim snapped photos. The above photo shows orbs in both the lower, and upper windows. Looks like someone had there eye on us.

A Major who served under Robert E. Lee and the Confederate Army during the Civil War ( 1861 - 1865 ). Jackson was shot by his men at the battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia. He soon died of infection from a wound he received to his right arm, and then having it amputated. Buried in the cemetery are Stonewall Jackson, 144 confederate soldiers, and 2 governors. We began our investigation at 4:14 p.m. and concluded at 5:20 p.m. The wind was moderately blowing, and the humidity was slight, with temperatures in the mid 80's. We did a 360 degree sweep of the cemetery taking pictures, and doing evp work. Contamination was present due to other visitors in the cemetery. We are not aware of any claims that this cemetery is haunted, but we were aware of the history and awe of this place. It was very tranquil and serene. We got to walk through a timepiece of history on this one. Included are some pictures so you can get an idea of what we got to witness.
